Hello again! The month of October has ended and November is in full swing!
During the month of October we did our Monster Color Book. Hopefully this is something you and your child can review together at home to help and encourage your child to learn their colors. We also spent time doing some fun fall activities with paint, leaves, and of course our Halloween party. It was a lot of fun to parade around the school to see costumes and show ours off to the rest of the school. We had even more fun frosting cookies, playing Pin the Mouth on the Pumpkin, and making Candy Corn magnets. Thank you for those of you who came in and helped, it was fun to share the day with you.
During the month of November we will be learning more about Hot and Cold, How to stay Healthy, Music, Things we can be Thankful for, and Thanksgiving.
Please do not send your child to school if he/she is sick. Remember a green or yellow runny nose is a sign of sickness. Also if your child has come down with diarrhea or a fever, please wait until the problem has ended for at least a 24 hour period of time.
Let’s try to keep our class healthy, and not spread sicknesses this season. Thank you for your help!
Skills to work on at home
**Putting on coats independently
**Washing hands independently
**Coughing or sneezing in our elbow instead of on others.
**Wiping our nose with a Kleenex.
**Cutting with scissors
**Following a 1 step direction.
**Responding to our name.
November 24, 2009 will be the last day of preschool before Thanksgiving Break. Preschool will resume on December 1, 2009. Please mark your calendars.
Thank you for helping me with the daily journals. I appreciate your willingness to review your child’s day with them, and sending the journals back blank and ready for the next school day. This really helps us know you are aware of what your child is doing in school.
We will be starting an Alphabet book. We will work on a letter each week focusing on recognition and the letter sound. I will be keeping the pages for the book and your child will receive the book at the end of the school year. We will be doing other alphabet activities that may be sent home. Please review the letters of the alphabet with your child especially those letters in their name. This will help them to start to recognize the alphabet letters and sounds and help reinforce what we are working on in the classroom.
Thank you to those of you who helped our class out with donations. We sure do appreciate it. If you would still like to donate, please feel free to send any snack items such as crackers, fruit snacks, cereal, graham crackers, raisins, etc. If you want to donate any non food items, we can always use Clorox wipes and Lysol Spray to clean our classroom and toys. Again we appreciate your support.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I am always available via email gjpayan@hotmail.com and can be reached by phone 801 789 2600 Ext 166, before school starting at 8:30 am and after school until 4:00 pm. I ask that you only contact me during class time if it is an emergency.
Thank you for all you do for your child.
