October Newsletter

Hello again! The month of September has come to an end.
October is here and so is the season of Fall.
During the month of September, our theme was Transportation, and Things that Go! The local Eagle Mountain Fire Department came to visit. They brought the fire truck and ambulance for us to explore. I hope you took the opportunity to discuss this experience at home. The students really seemed to enjoy our classroom experience.

SEP Conferences
SEP conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 7th and Thursday, October 8th. Please call or email me to set up a time to meet on one of those days. I will make appointments on a first come first serve basis.
SEP’s is a opportunity for us to visit briefly about your child’s progress so far this year.

Picture Make up Day
Picture make up day will be Tuesday, October 13th. The photographers will be taking pictures from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. This is a make up day if your child missed the original picture day so please bring them in if necessary for pictures.

Fall Break
Fall Break will be October 15, and 16. There will be no preschool. School will resume October 20th.

Pick up and Drop off
Just a reminder, when you are dropping your child off for school please do not bring your child more than 5 minutes before school starts. Also please be on time, when you are picking up your child from school. The parking lots get pretty busy so I encourage you to come early especially with construction and weather.

Daily Journals
I have started sending home a daily journal for your child. Please review it with your child each day, and then clean it off with running water. This is my way of communicating with you about your child’s day. Please clean it off to let me know that you have read it. The daily journal is optional if you do not wish to receive it please let me know.

Donations
If you would like to donate to our class you are welcome to donate any snack items, hand sanitizer, and/or Clorox wipes. Thank you to those who have sent snack donations. I do appreciate it.

Clothing and Shoes
Please remember that preschool is a place children learn, and sometimes we get messy, when we are learning. Please send your child in clothing that can get dirty.
Please also send your child in shoes that do not limit your child’s physical abilities. We do A.P.E. and play out on the playground. With the weather changing please remember to send a coat or jacket because we do try to go outside even when it gets cold.

Sickness
Please do not send your child to school with a cough or runny nose. I will be sending children home with these symptoms. I would like to keep sicknesses out of our classroom as much as possible and you can help us out by keeping your child at home when they appear to be sick.

IEP Goals
Please review your child’s IEP goals and incorporate their goals into his/her daily routine. Reinforcing your child’s goals at home along with the activities at school will help them with their progress.

October Activities
October activities in preschool will include our Shapes Theme. There will be lots of fun activities to help us learn our shapes including a shape collage. Please take this opportunity to reinforce shapes matching and identification during the month. We will also be discussing and going activities about Fall and Halloween.

Please watch for more details on our Fall Class Party. Parents will be invited to come and participate, however, other arrangements will need to be made for siblings if you want to participate.

Thank you for all your help and support.

Miss Gina
